Muslim man makes the decision to follow Christ after learning refugee brother had
Tawfeek* is a Muslim living in the Middle East who has been very resistant to Christianity to the point of enmity. The threat of war has caused his family to flee in multiple directions over the past few years and become refugees in surrounding countries. They have had little contact or knowledge of the events surrounding each family member and many of them have been resettled to 3rd party countries.
What he didn’t know was that one his brothers had heard the gospel of Christ in a refugee camp. After months of learning and constant ministry from a missionary in the refugee camp, this man was lead to the Lord as well as his wife and children. It was a radical conversion and very soon after he accepted Jesus Christ, their resettlement applications were processed and they arrived in Nashville, TN.
When the brother of this new Christian heard that a family member of his had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and even shares the gospel with other Muslims in Nashville, he became very irate and sought to threaten his brother for abandoning Islam.
Meanwhile, through the witness of the local church and other ministries, and through the persevering spirit of love and peace of those whom he had threatened, Tawkeek was experiencing his own revelation of Christianity and the God that they serve. After several encounters with believers who were responding in love, peace and mercy, Tawfeek saw a drastic difference between anger, malice and evil through the hearts of these people. He began to inquire of the reason they were different, that lead him to discover the transforming power of the gospel. It was a peace with all mankind, without which no man can see the Lord. He was moved by this reality, this one, true God, Christ the Messiah and what He can do for any man who surrenders to Him.
Tawfeek soon thereafter committed his life to the Lord and later his wife and children made the same decision. God can change the entire future of a family by making the one decision. Now, the Christ they rejected has become Lord of their life.
